alright you two. She wants a blood elf. I was thinking maybe dressing up one of her characters as a blood elf but I have no idea what the 'official' blood elf costume is. When you google blood elf its just what people make so they can diddle themselves.

That really is what they wear. What class? Red and gold is pretty standard blood elf colors.

someone needs to put some clothes on these elves before they pop a boob. I found a picture I liked and am going to reference it since they didn't mention what class they were just said they like blood elves. And I found a base with a staff so plus there. On to shrink the base and design the outfit now!

Oh hell yes WoW doll
Seriously the blood elf... no actually the female armor in general is always skimpy as hell, so what you've seen on Google is most likely accurate. Looking forward to what you post!
...Am I allowed to comment here, I'm not even in secret santa this year  either way. I was also a Horde player who had a blood elf at one point or another so I hope to be helpful

Of course you can comment here. Seems as though I'm the only one on green team that's going to complete a doll. The party is up in here!!!!

So I think I'm going to tool this bad boy. Thoughts?

double postin gin my own topic like a boss

Image

base by bunnystick.deviantart.com

here is the start of the initial rough sketch of the 'armor' pffft more like boob cover and a skirt. I like it so far, I can see lots of lines that need fixing but hell, Im not editing this thing yet. Links to awesome boots would be helpful. I the drawing Im basing this off of cuts off at the boots.

The gloves look a bit plain so I'll link gloves and boots!

I like these gloves and even though it's fan art, it's very similar to game gloves, warning about over sexiness though
http://data2.whicdn.com/images/23291228 ... _large.jpg

They also seem to like thigh boots but knee high will do if you really want.
My suggestions:

http://th07.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2 ... aleera.jpg

If she's wearing a robe her boots may not even show though!

I've noticed WoW likes to bs their boots  it looks more like footwraps on a lot of things, but nonetheless I'm sure you can make some look awesome.

I didn't know what you were going for robe wise so I just decided to put stuff out there to help inspire (hopefully)
Also if you're going for more of a half robe to show off the boots, you could go with something like this http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2 ... 3b1anr.jpg I don't think it's an actual mage set but who's really counting anyway. (Tbh I really just picked them because I love the gloves on her)
Unless you were going for something more like http://th04.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2 ... 354kec.jpg in which case, nevermind that :P
Another alternate robe design I found http://th00.deviantart.net/fs20/PRE/f/2 ... yf0xuk.jpg that one doesn't show boots though unfortunately

I'm looking forward to whatever you decide to do haha.

so here's what I got. I really liked the gloves in the first naughty link that marls gave so I am going to make the gloves and the boots look like that so there is some cohesive design on the doll. I liked the idea of a long skirt but a short skirt too so I took some ideas i saw from the cosplays from le google and added that. Lots of rough sketching I hope I can decipher when I clean up the lines.

Jeez you can really tell what I sketched with a mouse and what I sketched with a tablet. my goodness.

Thanks for all the help with the links dudes, I super appreciate it. You make my life easier.

the progress continues. Blocked colour and starting shading the gold and red. Matt got that it was a blood elf right away so thats a good sign.

tooling gives you so much depth of colour because it can be layered with a bajillion colours. It really makes me like the gold. Though that could change tomorrow.

That armor shading is great! The only problem I see is the point on the boots on the knee doesn't quite line up with the knee cap.

I still haven't lined up the knee armor but I will. I have been dolling in 15 min increments when I have time. Its a lot more efficient then I thought it would be.

I dont like the little piece of cloth that is hanging down between her legs at the bottom. I tried to make it look pretty but it just ain't happening.

Im having issues shading the skin. Any tips on skin shading with a tablet and no set palette? Ive been free balling this entire thing, but skin is so hard to get right. I want it to be warm, so have red undertones and a gold highlight to go with the rest of the doll, but it just looks dirty and very grey right now =/

I don't know if I will have time tomorrow to work on this, and then I am gone fri sat sun so it will be an all day-er on monday to finish!

The folds on the hanging piece look okay; they behave that way because you've made them rest slightly on her thigh and that affects how they move. The fabric looks too heavy or thick compared to the folds you have around her hips, so that may be what is bugging you. If you have the time to try-- I guess you don't-- you can try pushing it slightly to the side and draw smaller folds instead of just two big ones like you have there. But this would be me being a perfectionist. And, to be honest, I have no idea how this porn fantasy outfits work, so...

For the skin, I think it's because you're not using bold colours. (Look who's talking, someone who can't use colour at all) I would make the base colour slightly orangey so there's an even warmth to the whole area. Then I'd use reds or reddish browns and purple for the shadows and some mild yellow or green-- try to keep it desaturated-- and turquoise for the highlights. You may also use some dark grey or black-- set the opacity to pressure sensitivity-- to define the areas that have the darkest shadows. I cover skin shading in my walkthrough, just change the part where I add the blue for a darker red-- one from your shadows. I also show my colours, if you're curious.

You also need some references for muscle, those will make your skin work much better. There are some useful stock accounts like Mjranum's gallery at DA. They have some nude folders you could use for muscles. I used one for my crab lady and it was fairly easy to get it right.
